A suburb of Caledon, Palgrave is a community that reported just over 800 people in the 2006 census. Dating back to the mid 1800s, Palgrave has grown slowly but steadily.

Although small, the community has a lot to offer its residents. The Caledon Equestrian Park is located in Palgrave and has been selected to host the equestrian feats of the 2015 Pan American Games. The Great Pine Ridge Trail and the Bruce Trail, among others, provide beautiful hiking trails. For swimming, camping, mountain biking and other outdoor sports residents and visitors can enjoy the Albion Hills Conservation Area.

Visitors to the area might feel a sense of recognition even though they have never been there before. That may be because Palgrave provided the location for filming the 1963 version of “The Incredible Journey”. The beauty of the countryside and hospitality of the town was perfect for that family film that won the hearts of so many.
